I was lucky and managed to pick it up for £85. Normally around £100.

But I`d definitely try the Tomato RAF

Is the tomato FW compatible with Sky`s MER protocol?

Had never heard of "MER". Just assumed they`d all use PPPoA.
However, a quick Google shows this:

First post says working routers: "Routers running Tomato firmware"
RE: Modern Warfare 3.... Who`s in, & who`s out :)
righto... time to buy a new router methinks.
the sagemcom f[at]ts 2504 is flakey at best.
trouble is, i don`t think i can justify spending £100+ on a router at the mo`
i`ve seen a TPLink VDSL router on ebuyer which is compatible with DD-WRT
so might do a bit more digging.... it`s a shade over £52

When you say a "VDSL router" - I assumed you meant VDSL modem/router combination. But there`s very few of those around, I guess when the "BT Infinity" uptake is greater they should become more mainstream.
RE: Modern Warfare 3.... Who`s in, & who`s out :)
dunno mate.
basically, I`ve got a BTO fibre box attached
to a new wall plate and Sky`s sagemcom
attached to that. surely all I need is a router
not a modem-router?

You wrote "TP Link VDSL router" - when I first read that I thought you meant an integrated `fibre` (VDSL) modem + router.
