NO! DO NOT BUY THE MACRO MASTER!

Actually, you can buy it but you mught like to know the following. The Macro Master does indeed clear the picture signal to your VCR. However, the crappy results can be seen when you playback your recorded VHS tape. I myself tested the Macro Master and I can tell you that certain DVD disks will still not copy. I am talking about the ones from Paramount (Tomb Raider, Face Off, etc).

I just thought you might like to know this before shelling out £30 for this piece of crap that everyone worships for some reason.

Weston,
I have this DataVideo VP260, and that does an excellent job! I was told that if your Video device is a SVHS, the quality is superb!
Cheers,

Try SCB Electronics in Manchester, tel 0161 723 5442. I can`t get the link to work, so I won`t post it, but they sell the Video Digiview which is a box of tricks which cures macrovision.Price was £69.99 a few months back. Hope this helps.

I purchased a Macro-Master about 6 months ago and found it excellent,I had no probs at all with Face-off at all. However when I hooked it up to my Phillips VR1000 S-vhs video the picture being fed through was perfect, the recorded picture was as you say `crap`,but put it through either my Panasonic S-vhs or JVC vhs, the recorded picture was fine. The only thing that I can think of is that may be there is a compatability problem with certain video recorders, but it is only a guess!
