Hi,
i recently bought myself,a pioneer dvd recorder,i can copy most of my horror collection,(for back ups)but does anyone know of any software,to let me copy the protected discs,as i paid some crazy prices over at an ebay auction for the more hard to obtain horror,to find out they are protected, and i really need a back up of these discs.

I assume you mean recording from DVD to DVD R??

If it is then you need a DVD player that has Macrovision disable (copy protection)
My Dansai 852 has and there are a few others.

What is the other DVD player? You may be able to disable macrovision with it. If not you can buy a cable which does

Just search in this forum

What you are coming up against is CGMS, which prevents you digitally copying directly from a DVD to DVD-R. This is a feature that is enabled (probably quite rightly) on all the DVD recorders.
