BACKP UP DVD OR VCD TO VHS

New to all this can any body help. I have been trying to copy a vcd2 from my dvd player to video using red yellow white leads the vcd are not protected but every time i play video back its all distorted.
Also when disks are protected is their a way you can make a back up on video. All help greatly appreciated.

Have you disabled macrovision on your dvd player?

There is no macrovision on VCD`s

The VCD you have is proberbly NTSC for the US. You will be able to watch it on your TV as most new TV`s will exept it.

The one thing you wont be able to do is record it on a PAL VCR unless your DVD converts the signal to PAL 50 Htz (check your settings)

Some DVD players will only convert to PAL 60 which you still can not record.

What make and model of DVD player do you have?

I have a pacaific 750 from asda. I used to have a samsung and i could back up onto vhs as long as disc was not protected. But i just cant seem to with this new player.
Also how do i turn macrovision off on my dvd.
