Yamaha 630 in stock!

Just driven past the hifi shop in Hertford, and saw a pile of 3 boxes in the window with the magic phrase "Yamaha RXV630" on them. Looks like they`re starting to appear!

Hi Richard,
I was going to get the Denon 1602/1802 tomorrow but after I have seen this posting and looked at Yamaha`s web site, I think I will wait for while. RX-V430RDS, RX-V530RDS and RX-V630RDS have DPL2. I could not find any reference to those models on the net apart from two web sites but only listing the prices. Interesting to know if they also have a problem with the EX flag.

Well, the yammys have always delivered the goods in the past, so it`ll be interesting to see some reviews of these latest models. Mind you, that 1802 for £199 did sound tempting....
Re the EX flag thing, find out what chipset the yammys are using - I believe it`s only that one chipset used in the 1602 etc that`s got the problem.

The Yammy chipset is an in-house brand, so I would think they`ll be fine.

Man, get me to a DSPAX630 : me want one....

Hi guys,

I looked at the Yamaha web site for the new range and it seems that the price of the lowest spec one is similar to that of the Denon 1802. So comparing what each machine will allow in term of conectivity, I went for the DENON 1802 £299 (brand new) and not the Ex-display one which was £199. After seeing them on display and what everyone is doing to them, I did not feel confortable with the idea after all.

After opening the box, I found that the plug is of the 2-pin type. The shop gave me some sort of an adaptor but that did not fit after all so I had to cut the plug and install a new 3-pin UK type plug. Dont know what effect that will have on my waranty as there was no registration form which usually come with electrical goods ????!!!

connected my 2 Eltax silverstone 110 speakers and the diffirence is already felt.

I am thinking of buying a set of speakers and been reading the postings here and since space is a problem, I think the choice is narrowed down to three;

YAMAHA NSP220 £119
SONY SAVE 325 £130
ELTAX STARGATE X.1 £110

Any sugestions to which one is the best among these three or any other ones within this price range?

Thanks

Jaf
