Page 1 of LG 3200E and CyberHome AD -N, Which One? Are there Hacks?

Hi I`m rather new to the DVD scene, I have seen the 2 DVD players in WH Smith and need advice, I would like to buy one from here as they are cheap and my brother works there. I have found the hack to make the Cyber home multi region, but I`ve heard the machine is not that good, The LG has a 5 year guarentee with it which is good, but is there a multi region hack for it?. I am not too bothered about MP3`s and playing music Cds, it would purely be for watching Dvd films (hopefully Region 1 and 2). Can anyone help me, I want to decide and get one before the christmas rush really starts and they sell out.

I`ve just bought the LG you are looking at after having has to return a faulty Bush player i bought from Argos for £150.

I would advise against buying the Cyberhome. Spending that little on a player is asking for trouble. Spend the extra its worth it in the long run. I`ve been very impressed with the LG. The extra £30 i invested in a player from taking the Bush back made all the difference.

As for regional coding i wouldn` t really worry about it. How many region 1 titles are really likely to come accross? If i was you i`d just wait that bit longer for region 2 release.Besides a hack for the LG is bound to come along.

So my advise would be avoid the Cyberhome like the plague it may look like a good deal now but you may pay for it in the long run.

I have seen on one site in spanish and now here in the hack forum, a code for an LG Machine as follows:
Eject DVD, so try is open
Press 3,1,4,1,5,9 and it will come display CODE____
you then enter the region code you want
eg
0 multi
1 US
2 Europe
Can someone try this out and let me know for the LG 3200E model.
I would greatly appreciate it.

Given the choice, I`d go for the LG any day. I`ve got an older 2280, Region Two only, and it is an excellent machine.You can always get the 3200 modded if there is no region hack. Alternatively, have a look at the Lecson from Debenhams. £200 with a two year waranty. I`ve just bought one for my Region One stuff and am impressed with it.

I ought the Cyberhome last week from Smiths and it appears to be fine. Playback is good as is sound.

The muli region hack is simple - open the draw, pess 6, then 7 then select and choose the region you want or 13 for multi region. Its a big player - larger then my VCR and does not look too bad in black - use the savings to buy some DVDs

Solution? : Buy an Aiwa 370 for £200!
