Page 1 of Codes for Ariston DVD 2000 remote control

I have just purchased a Yamaha 520 receiver, as well as giving very good sound reproduction for both movies and ordinary audio cds, it also has an excellent universal remote control. I have been able to program it to operate my TV and CD player from the codes provided by Yamaha. However, no codes are listed for Ariston kit. I have made various enquiries of Richer Sounds and the Audio Partnership (they supply Ariston equipment), but have drawn a blank. Does anybody know the remote control code for the DVD 2000?

My unit is giving ` No Disc` errors on films that have played okay beforehand. These titles have been tested on the another unit ( same model) and play okay.

No I haven`t had this problem. Have you tried cleaning the player`s laser? My player won`t play a DVD that was the cover disk on a PC magazine, and it won`t play some of the special features on disk 2 of the Abyss (I have read this is a problem for some players), but apart from that it plays just about anything.

I have had time to think about this. I have not had a `no disk` message on my DVD player, but I have had it on my CD player. When I cleaned the laser, by physically removing the outer case and then hoovering the housing, I resolved it. Drastic, but it worked. I would suggest that you try using a CD audio head cleaner on your player, and make sure that your disks are clean.

For anyone who is interested, the code for the One for All 6 remote control is 673. Sadly, this wasn`t the one I was looking for.
