How best to connect my LECSON DVD to my TV , VCR, Sat Decoder.
I have just bought my first DVD a LECSON 900 and would be grateful for some help in getting the best connections.
All my equipment have 2 scarts and both the VCR and the DVD say it is best to connect to the RGB Scart. As I would lie to keep all 3 additions to my TV what is the best way to connect. I would prefer not to use my S -VHS as this is arounfd the front of my TV.
Also, if I get a home theatre kit, how would I connectmy DVD, as my video in Socket is again on the front of my TV. Can the Scart still be used?
Thanks
JIM
RE: How best to connect my LECSON DVD to my TV , VCR, Sat Decoder.
OK, best way to go:
DVD : Scart from OUT to TV RGB in (DVD will benefit more than Sky - ensure you configure your DVD SCART output to RGB too)
SKY: Scart from VCR OUT to AV1 on VCR/ Scart from digibox TV OUT to TV (non-RGB)
VID : you don`t need to connect this to the telly as the SKY Scart cable will sort that out (i.e when you press play on your VCR the VCR will over-ride the Sky, if you have it switched on).
You will also need to manually tune your VCR to ITV(Channel 3) as Sky don`t do it, otherwise select LINE 1, INPUT 1 or AV1 on your VCR if you`re taping straight from Sky. Harder to do recordings from Sky as there is no timer on the digibox (heh heh - you can on On digital, he said knowingly)
As for connecting to your `theatre system` (prefer an AV amp meself - Yammy DSPA5 £219 from buy.com but may be a 6 week wait for delivery) you needn`t worry about a SCART connection - generally you can connect by digital interconnect (should be an optical or coaxial output from the DVD player to an amplification source) or failing that by good old phono plugs.
Hope this helps.
