Pacific 750 or 1000 on a non-SCART TV?
I have been to ASDA and like the idea of either of these machines. Unfortunately my TV doesnt have a SCART socket, can I still use one of these DVD Players (or in fact any DVD player for that matter)?? If so what leads does in require and are they included?
As you have probably guessed I am a DVD newbie.

Simon!
What you need is a "RF Modulator" to use your tv aerial socket
www.maplin.co.uk for £30
or maybe put this towards a 2nd hand tv with scart

firstly you realy realy should get a scart tv whats the point of getting dvd otherwise ? direct connection = better picture & sound also i have tried both pacific dvd players and they are very poor you can get much better for the same money elsewere (try tesco or richer sounds)

If you want to use any DVD player with your TV you will need one that is macrovision free. (Pacific and Dansai have a handset hack)
You can then feed them though a VCR to your TV.
Better to get a new TV first though. Nice 28" Widescreen Philips for about £330 if your interested?

Micoman!
The Pacific 1000 can`t be remote macro hacked so he`d better get the 750 if he must!!

Thanks for the comments so far. Obviously the newer TV option is the ultimate situation but funds cant stretch that far at the moment.
I notice that my video player has a scart socket, can I plug the DVD into the video and then the video to the TV in the normal manner?

Yes ! but you will have to overcome macrovision first .So get the pacific 750 or the dansai(the better option)

I went for the Pacific in the end so now need to hack the macro. I followed the instrcutions right up to the bit where you have to select `Enable or Disable`, how do I do this? Is the Enable and Disable options normally shown on the TV screen or on the front of the DVD player? If its the TV can someone tell me what to press to select disable??
