Hardware Forum
hi
I cannot not get a dd5.1 signal from this system.Anytime I go to the dvd function it comes up dvd unlock and when I go in the surround sound options it says not used.Any help would be welcome.
Thanks
How is your amp connected to your DVD? Have you connected the amp to your DVD with a toslink cable. Only this connection or six separate leads from a built in DD5.1 decoder on your DVD to the amp will give you 5.1 sound.
Yeah
I`ve connected it to the dvd player using a toslink cable.
anybody please help
I`m going of my bloody head, I cannot find the problem.
I think one of four things is going on:
1) The HTK215 is broken
2) The toslink cable is broken
3) The dvd optical out is broken
4) The dvd optical out needs to be enabled in some way
I reckon 2 or 4 is most likely - what sort of player do you have?
Cloonus,
Have you tried the DVD setup? Try changing the option to PCM/Stream.
I had to do it on my player (JVC XV523) as I kept getting the unlock message when trying to play DTS.
Hope this helps,
Dave
Also try going into the amps set up menu and configuring the optical link to the `dvd` function setting. Sony amps all use the same software in the operating system. It should say; Digital In/Coaxial-Optical. Select optical and you should be fine. Also check dsm`s method too, a lot of dvd players come with the bitstream option disabled.
