CD playback problems of Wharfedale 750s

Ian w (Harmless) posted this on Thursday, 9th November 2000, 08:53

When playing an audio play on cd, I found that the machine introduces pauses between tracks/chapters. As sound is supposed to be mixed across the the track then this is causing a break in the content. I have tried a number of audio play discs, including Dr Who (new adventures from Big Finish), Dr Who (old stuff from the BBC), Goon Shows(BBC), and some music CD`s including Pink Floyd`s `Dark Side of the Moon`, `The Wall` and Jeff Wayne`s `War of the Worlds`. In all cases the player pauses between chapters causing a break in the action where there should
be none. All discs play fine on my regular CD player so they can`t all be faulty. Since playback of CD`s is an advertised feature of the 750s there should be no problem.

I have also tried at least one of the discs on a chums Panasonic DVD player with NO PROBLEM between tracks.

Sadly, this is what the Wharfey does. I had the same experiences and was gobsmacked that it behaved this way. I even had it confirmed by Wharfedale.

I couldn`t live with this and now have a Pioneer......

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news!
