I have recently recorded a dvd onto video, put the picture quality is rubbish, it is snowy. i have connected the dvd thorugh the video scart. any suggestions why the picture is snowy

Have you disabled the Macrovision anti copy feature? This is there to mess the picture up to stop you copying. You do it from the same screen you use for the multi region hack.
Press Setup on your remote control. Then on the front panel of the DVD press STOP, PREV, NEXT. This takes you to the service menu, set macrovision to off, and if you want multi region, set the region to bypass.

Yes, i have disabled it, but the quality is poor, any idea`s cuz it is also poor when recording from the cable box?
