For all those who care - heres a little info that I obtained from Schneider today.
They are no longer producing the 855 dvd player and it has been marked as discontinued therefore ASDA will not be getting anymore in stock.
There is a new player which will be available in April cunningly called the dvd 856 - I am waiting for details regarding spec and region hacks but im assuming most features will be identical to the 855, but I have no information about pricing as yet.
Some other useless information received -
Schneider only supply ASDA in the UK Schneider do not *make* the Pacific players but actually import them for ASDA
