strolled into my local dealer yesterday and got given their demo for the lifestyle 25 II, and I must admit I was very impressed. they are even offering a trade in of £250 for any hi-fi system against it. Now to the question why is it that for the price (£1999.00) they are charging does it only offer dolby digital and not dts? does this meen that i need a dvd player with a dts decoder built in? and why so few inputs(vid1,vid2,aux for dvd and tape) although you can run seperate rooms from it at an extra cost any ideas on alternatives for around £1500 please?
RE: does any-one know bose?
I think you have just listed most of the reasons why you not buy this system. In the xmas 2001 T3 they slate the more expencive LS30II (£3300) and say it would be ok at £1000. This is from a image mag where sound is not all.
Please spend your money on normal boxes. You will be happyer in the long run.
For those of you sinical ones out there who are saying "But Mr Bruce you are bound to say that you don`t sell it." Please let me know of a good review you can point out. I would be genuinly interested to see one. I have in my time come across various Bose systems when installing other bits and bobs and personally find them lacking for there price point. Allthough they do look great, pick one up, feel it.
I hope this is of some help and let us know how you get on.
All the best,
Andrew.
thanks andrew
you were right, on reflection i was looking for someone to confirm what i had already worked out. it`s all too easy to fall in love with the kit at a demo but it`s much wiser to walk away and then let your head think it through for you. as you rightly say for that sort of money i could get a realy good set up, i don`t need a new dvd player yet so it`s realy just a case of upgrading speakers and amp/receiver. thanks again and i`ll keep you posted as to my final choice. i might even pop over and see what westy recomends at area 450.
