I note in the FAQs that there are two standards for NTSC. However, I am looking for a TV/DVD combo capable of interfacing with a Japanese gamecube.
The vendor assures me that unless the equipment is NTSC 3.58 compatible, it will display in B&W.
The question is: How can I find a TV / DVD combo. that meets the requirement, when all the specs. usually say is "NTSC playback"?

Have you got a jap Gamecube? if so where did you get it from and how much as im looking to buy one!

Your vendor is correct 3.58 is the Colour Burst frequency for NTSC ( Pal its 4.43 ) Ask to see the manual for the equipment , check to see if it plays NTSC at the correct frame rate ( 60 Hz )
