Digital Spy says it downloads 5 hours of programming a night. That sounds a bit s***.

If it`s on Sky+ only what`s the point, wouldn`t subscribers have recorded the programmes they wanted anyway? If they forgot to record would it "learn" what they like from their regular viewing/recording or would it be luck if Anytime recorded what they missed?

You can turn it off.
I have.
I have no desire for it and I object to the racket the boxes make when they automatically and stealthily download the content.
I`ve lost count of the times the SKY+ box in our bedroom has fired itself up early in the morning, despite being on standby.
That`s the anytime content being downloaded onto a part of the disk you can`t access.
My SKY HD box offers me 160GB of recording, but there`s allegedly a lot more memory in there that SKY can only access, for the anytime crap.

IIRC the HD box is 300Gb with only 160 available to the user.
160 not really a lot if you record in HD.

Luckily I have an original Sky+160 so the "anytime" junk wont be a problem.

I`ll have to check my sons PVR3 to see if he has it yet
