Id say 200 quid is plenty for a dvd player. Anyhow I think this player is first class for the money, Sounds great, Plays films without any problems and looks cool. Only thing is there is not region hack for it as yet.

Go out and buy one, You wont be sorry!!!

Thanks, I have bought one,as I am new to DVD could you give me some advice?
It came as a home cinema system with 5 speakers and sub-woofer and says Dolby Digital 5.1 which I thought was the latest system (taking over from pro-logic).
However after reading the instructions it also mentions DTS Digital Surround for which a decoder must be connected to the digital audio out jack.
I`m a bit confused, does this unit make use of the 6 channels without having a decoder.

I stands for Digital Theatre Sound (I think).

It is another standard for encoding 5.1 sound, not as commonly used as Dolby Digital.

Your player decodes Dolby Digital 5.1, it just doesn`t handle DTS internally. I would not worry about this as I cannot think of many DVDs with DTS on that do not also have Dolby Digital.

DTS is just a newer version of 5.1 sound than dolby digital, there is a huge debate as to which is better.
There are`nt an amazing amount of dts discs on region 2 anyway so don`t worry, dolby digital will do fine as a first set up.
Try the phantom menace it is supposed to be amazing with surround sound.
