Anyone got a Panasonic TX32DK1 TV?
I see that Currys are advertising this 32" widescreen for £599 - I had been looking at a Philips 32PW6006 (£500 delivered from unbeatable). Anyone got the Panny - what`s it like? How flat`s the screen? Not too worried about sound - just image quality. £500 was my max budget, but wonder if it`s worth going for the Panny while I`m at it (but £600 really IS my top budget).
RE: Anyone got a Panasonic TX32DK1 TV?
I`ve had a DK1 for about 2 weeks now, it`s my third "budget" widescreen in 5 weeks! But, I think this one is the keeper.
The FST Quintrix is "quite" flat, although nothing like the Tau tubes Panasonic are doing now. Having said that the picture is nothing short of stunning, especially anamorphic dvd material. The detail this screen produces compared to, for instance, the 100Hz Scneider 28" WS I also briefly owned, is staggering. Details on the armour in Gladiator have a real 3D feel, the costumes in CTHD are just superb.
My advice would be to go to Currys and have look at a Philips and the Panasonic, my preference was the DK1.

Richard! This is a great set, especially at this price. I spent 4 months narrowing my list down to 5 possibilities, and have since had 10 months of excellent viewing.
Having compared the set directly with Philips, j.v.c. & others I felt the picture quality was superior, for a nicam set, the sound is good even
when not connected to a reciever! You cant go wrong mate!!
Only downside is that it`s quite big, not that pretty, and instead of my fireplace, it has now become the centrepiece in the lounge!!
Hope this helps.
Regards. MOG.

Thanks all - sounds like it`s the one for me! Micoman - thanks for the tip re QED (for once I didn`t check there!)
Mog - I think it looks OK - a certain square brutal charm - one thing that was putting me off the Philips was all the curves for curves` sake.
