it`ll either be on the front of the tv or in the instruction book, but if you post the make/model we`ll look it up for you :)

If buying off ebay, make sure its not been written on the side, with a black marker pen as you will be disappointed when you sky hd set arrives and you can not get a picture.

The way I think is that if it has an HDMI input then its Hi-Def Ready.

HDMI does not guarantee HD ready per EICTA compliance requirements.
DVI but with HDCP support is also acceptable.
