Alba rdvd 1000 Recording problems

Can anyone help, before I chuck this DVD recorder out of the window.
I am trying to record from my Telewest TV drive, but due to the Alba Recorder only having 1 scart, this is causing problems, I have put a multi scart adapter into the back of the recorder and still nothing. The screen keeps saying no input when I press record. I have tried tuning it in but it will not pick anything up. Can anyone advise if I need to put extra leads or scarts anywhere else. Please help, any suggestions would be welcome, :(

I have to say that a DVD Recorder with only one SCART is a total waste of space! Is that SCART an output only, I wonder?

Is there an alternative A/V input at the front of the recorder (probably a composite set of phonos - red/white/yellow) If so, use this to connect from the Telewest box - you may need a SCARt adaptor to connect the composite leads into at the Telewest end.

Best suggestion I can offer. I think Telewest have an RF output, so you should be able to tune into it on the DVD Recorder as long as you have an RF (aerial) lead connecting the 2 as well.

Many Thanks for the help, your ideal worked. I think this still has to be one of the worst dvd recorders around, but you get what you pay for. I shall be looking for a better quality one in the new year.

Cheers

Hi there, I am new to this forum and just wonder if you have sorted your recording problems? Also wonder if by any chance you have a multi Regions code?
I bought my 1000 some weeks ago, am pleased with it but need region free.
Cheers! Fran
