Hardware Forum
I saw a player in whsmith for 129 pounds.
they just called it the cyber home,
but I found some number an-212 on the box.
Has anyone heard of this?
Is it any good?
I haven`t been able to find a review of it anywhere online.

I`ve yet to hear from anybody who`s actually bought one yet.

RE: Some Info From An Old Thread...
Since we are in partnership with WHSmith, I have asked them for a review unit.

Thanks, that would be great.
I bought an L-50 last year, and it`s gorgeous, but I don`t want to invalidate
the warranty modding it, so I`m after a second machine to play my R1s
on. If it works properly, this means I can afford it a bit quicker.

Well, I went ahead and bought it.
And it`s currently playing The Iron Giant in glorious widescreen.
All the onscreen displays are in german, so I`ll try and figure out how to
change that.
It took me awhile to work out how to turn subtitles off, rather than just
cycle through available languages.
I`ll try the hack now and see if it works.
This model only has two channel sound, not 5.1
but then I`m plugging it into a mono telly, so it doesn`t bother me.

RE: Some Info From An Old Thread...
The hack works fine, and I got the language problem sorted out.
The operating system is preset to german,
and audio subtitles etc are preset to chinese.
Not too helpful for what is presumably aimed as an entry level box.
Anyway, I`m happy.
