Which DTS decoder player for JBL Curry`s deal

Thicko2 (Harmless) posted this on Monday, 29th October 2001, 09:10

Dear all

Have just acquired one of these Curry`s 150 JBL deals.

Am I right in presuming that if I buy a DVD player with a DTS decoder I could match this together for a DTS system as well?

If so do any players sping to mind?

Assuming you have 6 inputs (for Front L & R, Centre, Rear L & R and subwoofer) try either :

Cyberhome ADL528 - £100 from Richer Sounds or WHSmith
Wharfedale M5 - £150 (but soon to be £100) from Tesco

Clayts, I have a feeling that the Cyberhome 528 will only pass the DTS signal rather than decoding it, so that may not be a goer.
I wonder if it might be better to stick with the JBL`s Dolby Digital converter and an optical/coax connection, rather than running the 6 phonos with the player`s on board converter. I guess you could do that for DD, and use the 6 channel output for DTS.
