Any of you savvy guys know where twin tuner Freeview STBs but without HDD (already got one of those) can be obtained ? I`ve "Googled" for this kit, but all I come with is a Goodmans in Argos. Thanks in advance.

Well at least it`s one up from philips. :/

Other than Goodmans, I have never seen a twin tuner Freeview box without a hard drive.
I did a quick check on Kelkoo to see what came up. I was quite surprised to see a new 40GB Thomson DVD 4000 being offered through Amazon for just avoer £100 + delivery, and a refurbed 80GB Fusion FVRT150E being offered at DABS for £99.99 + delivery.
If cost was the issue, then surely one of these coudl be considered, as they are excellent prices!
Here`s the link to the Kelkoo search I did:

Thanks Sue, it`s not so much cost that`s an issue, but I`m trying to think ahead here for when "they" switch off the analogue signal. I already have a Humax 9200T (twin tuner and 160GB HD) wired into the system. What I`m aiming to try and do is to provide a Freeview signal to my other recording kit which is a Sony DVD recorder with 80GB HD. A twin tuner being necessary to watch one Freeview channel whilst recording another. Thanks for the link anyway. :)

Yes, technology isn`t keeping up with the Govenment`s timetable re Freeview, is it!
In time, of course, we`ll all slowly switch over to IDTV sets, which are now quite widely available. But recording equipment with built in digital tuners are still quite a rarity, which is frustrating. DVD Recorders should all have an integral Digital tuner in this country, but in reality only a handful of manufacturers have incorporated this feature.
And I really hope that the signal is signficantly boosted when the analogue switch off finally happens, as at the mo, splitting a signal between 2 or more Freeview boxes causes no end of hassle!
It`s called Progress! :¦

I think that the DVD recorder manufacturers have a hidden agenda. Come the time for analogue switch off, beginning in 2008 I believe, people will suddenly realise that they need Freeview boxes for their recorders. Then there will be a rush for this new technology and the manufacturers will be able to call the shots, i.e. on price, particularly the sort of kit I`m looking for i.e. twin tuner jobs. :/
