Help diagnosing Sky+ fault

Guy mk2 (Competent) posted this on Friday, 14th July 2006, 22:06

Hi, before ringing Sky can someone help narrow down this fault.

Do the 2 cables coming from the LNB have to go into specific Dish Inputs on the Sky+ box? Also, do you have to have a signal on Dish Input 1 before Dish Input 2 shows?

I am trying to discover if I have a faulty cable/LNB connection or box input. At the moment I only have a signal for Dish Input 1. Recording works but only for the channel I am watching.

Thanks.

sounds like one input on the box is dead? could be wrong, have u tried using one cable at a time in input 1 for instance to see if the strenght/quality goes up? this would tell if both cables are carrying signal thus eliminating the lnb as a fault?
