PANASONIC DVD-RV31 Troubles...
I just don`t know anymore!!! I`m trying to find the perfect DVD player and it`s getting me down!!! lol
Like many, I`m addicted to shopping at Richer Sounds and have faith in their expertise and wide selection of products. But of recent I`ve been put off with their lack of knowledge in the DVD department...
My first purchase was an Eclipse DVD 695 @ £180... This played every blimmin` disc you threw at the damn thing.
However... It didn`t like MP3 discs if you had other files or used sub-directories, there was no power on/off on the remote, and the sub-titles came on everytime you played a DVD... (3 good reasons to hate the thing!)
So back I went expecting to exchange for a brand spanking new Pioneer DV340/343 - Not so! They`re not available yet (or something like that)
I picked up a Panasonic DVD-RV31 instead as it had all the connections at the back which I needed and supported all the formats...
Well I can`t get the bloody thing to play a single MP3! Aaaaaaargh!!!
Where am I going wrong? Is there a remote hack or setup option to change? It tends to hate CD-RWs too!!!
This really has put a damper on my weekend!
Hope someone can help, please!?!

Lots of places do mods for the Panasonic 31 series -HOWEVER- a lot use the disc mod only which does not enable MP3 (no matter what the suppliers say). It is possible/likely that Richer Sounds have had one of these done.
It requires a chip mod to activate the MP3 playback.
I`m looking at a review of the Panasonic RV41 and it says it plays CD-R/RW/Mp3??
I liked the look of this. It`s not good when it does`nt do what it should!
Take it back and see if another one is any better. Could be faulty?
