Page 1 of Samsung M105 VS. Toshiba 210e

I haven`t heard many people talking in the forum about their experiences of the Samsung and wondered what the consensus was on it.
Samsung is cheaper and is multiregion out of the box with a remote hack(apparently).
Yet, you guys have been praising the Toshiba 210e.
Whats the story?

I have a Samsung M105 and the hacks don`t work. On the other hand, other people on this site have said that the hacks do work.

Looks like some M105s can be hacked and some can`t.

Don`t know anything about the Tosh.

The Toshiba is getting rave reviews (see What HiFI October issue), particularly because of its apparently good picture quality and sound quality (24bit/192KHz audio converter). It plays MP3 too, though it omits the first few milliseconds of every track. The Tosh also sports a component video output(YUV), good for projectors and Toshiba TVs. It uses the latest Zoran Vaddis decoder chip. Not region free without hardware mod. The 201E plays CDR/CDRW discs. Seems unbeatable for the price, though the German DVD boards have some reservations, they seem to adore the Pioneer 444 instead. Much more expensive though!
The Samsung I have seen but not in action. It looks good, but the 105 does not play CDR/CDRW discs, and has no MP3 playback. The Samsung 205, on the other hand, does all that, but still no component output. Over here, the 205 is about 20 quid more; seems a better deal than the 105. Overall I would go for the Tosh.

Argos claim the 105 play`s MP3`s but I`m not sure about CDR/RW. One nice thing about the Samsung is that it`s multi region out of the box, although some people in the hacks forum are claiming it doesn`t work anymore.
I can`t find a Samsung 205.
The only complaints I`ve heard about the Toshiba is that the remote isn`t great and that its noisy.
There`s a £40 price difference between the Tosh and the Samsung (cheaper). If both players had to be modded then I might aswell get the Tosh.
