Sony tv problem

juninho (Mostly Harmless) posted this on Friday, 10th August 2001, 15:20

I have a 28" Sony widescreen, i have found that there is a slight bend to the picture on both sides. Apparently according to Curry`s and Sony, this is quite standard. Now i personally think if you are paying alot of money for a tv, it should be as near to perfect as possible.

Has anybody else had or got this problem, and what did you do about it ???

Hi Juninho

I used to own a Sony 28" DS60 TV, it had the same problem. I made the mistake of buying it via Dixon`s. After 6 Months and 8 repair trips with one problem cured another different one showing up, they agreed to give me my money back, by this time the price on the 32" version had dropped to the same price I paid (via WebElectricals), so I ordered this version and it was a perfect picture. Try getting it replaced and trust me do NOT except a repair.

Tip: If you own an older DS60 - Sony are offering a free IDtv firmware update for older models of the DS60, to enable you to pick up ON/ITV Digital`s new channels.

Best Regards

Matt

Slarti..

This site has now convinced me I CAN solve my "thin blue line" problem when playing NTSC disks. You have no idea how grateful I am!

A barrel at least!

I fixed the problem last night - i`d actually started to avoid playing and even buying R1 disks because of this problem - now I can start spending again...

Once again, Thanks!
