RAM to -R without using TMPG DVD AUTHOR 1.6 Help

I copied a RAM disc made on my Panasonic onto my HD using DVD Decrypter using ISO mode and then burned it onto a -RW. It played ok on my Panasonic. I then tried to burn the same image onto a -R. When I tried to play it on my Panasonic it says unsupported. Do I need to finalise the -R and how do I do this. I cannot find anything in Decrypter.
I have tried TMPG DVD Author 1.6 but the trial period expired and I cant afford to buy it.

I have just tried to copy the -RW disc (which played ok on my Pan DMR ES10) with Nero and that would not play on my Pan. or my LG4163 DVD writer. I am using Maxell discs in both cases.
Can anyone recommend a free programme to copy RAM to -R. and the mode to use within it. I am just interested in copying the whole disc as I can edit in my Panasonic.

The eyes see, the mouth moves but Mr Brain has long since departed!

If you have Nero you can import the RAM disc through NERO Vision Express using import DVD-VR under the make DVD option. I have had some problems with the discs not being read immediately but with perseverance you should be able to play about through this. All your editing can be done through this program and then burnt to DVD-R.
