How important are cables???

r8sso (Elite) posted this on Monday, 30th July 2001, 10:35

After weeks of posting threads I`ve finally decided on the player I`m going to purchase. However, I now have the problem of deciding which cables I need to buy!
I know this has been discussed already (rgb v s-vhs) but when I decided on how I want to connect my player how much should I be looking at paying for the cables?
Any anyone has any relevant experience with this I`d appreciate the feedback.

Thanks in advance,
Rosso.

It all depends on how much your system is worth. There is no point putting a £320 Van Den Hul coax lead on a £99 DVD player. Saying that though spend what you can cables can make or break a system. Also when you upgrade your kit there will be no need to buy new leads.

Hope this helps,

Andrew.

I need to connect the 5.1 outputs from the Sony DVP-S735 with the 5.1 inputs on my Technics Pro-Logic amp. I`m currently looking at this lead IXOS 175AV 6 RCA to 6 RCA for £42:00 is this a good price and is it a good lead?

Cheers,
Rosso.

Might be worth picking up a copy of WhatHiFi. The section at the back now has details of lots of AV leads - should be able to pick something out at the right price.

Have a look at http://www.beyondhifi.com - good prices there for cables.
