RE: Connecting PC and Amplifier question.....
I guess it depends on your sound card. You`d then need the right sort of connector cable between your sound card & amp.
Alternatively, you can connect an MP3 player to your amp & play the MP3s that way (they sound surprisingly good)

Yep, get one of these buggers off eBay. If you want to plug an mp3 player into your amp, you will still need the same lead.

Jobs a goodun. :) Use 3 of these leads to go from my 5.1 soundcard to my Yamaha amplifier. Sounds absolutely amazing in dvds especially. :)

Depending on your PC and amp it is also possible to connect the PC and amp with a SPDIF connection. That`s what I use between my HTPC and surround sound amp and that way the amp does the decoding instead of the PC.

That lead from Ebay looks about the kind of thing I need. I guess that two of the plugs go into the back of the amp but looking at the picture of the lead it looks like theres only one plug left over. If this is so where abouts does it connect onto the back of the PC??
Many thanks....

The two phono plugs, red and black (representing right and left respectively) plug into the audio inputs on your amp and the mini jack plug goes into the audio output (often the headphone output) of your PC.
However, this will not produce 5.1 sound - only stereo. The best you can get with it would be pro-logic surround.
If you are looking for 5.1 sound then you will need one of the other connectors suggested.

Thats ok for me....I`ve only got a bog standard stereo amp anyway!! Its only to mess around and play my MP3`s without having to burn them onto disc.
Many thanks for your suggestions and help...I appreciate it loads! :) :) :)
