Widescreen tvs

trickster999 (Harmless) posted this on Friday, 6th July 2001, 17:16

I`m after a 28inch widescreen for around £400.
My list is

Philips 28PW6305
Hitachi C28W411TN
Toshiba 28W93B

I prefer the looks of the hitachi, and I must have stereo audio outs to go through an HTK215 amp. Which do I get? Would I only need a prologic tv if I wanted to hear the sound from the tv? ie. do I only need a nicam tv to use the amp for prologic sound?

any help much appreciated.

I`ve got the C28W411TN TV and it has an excellent image and good audio seperation, my only gripe is that is lacks a bit of volume, however if you are using an amp for that then it is not an issue.

It is a well set up TV, decent stand too, enough to hold DVD, Video, Digital Box and Playstation.

If you want one at 380 inc delivery then www.empiredirect.co.uk did this model last time I looked at the site.

Also about saying 28 inch is too small, it is dependant on the size of the room. I have a small living room and a 32 inch would just be too big at the moment (when I move house, I want to get a 36 in model, but the front room will be about twice as big).

yes it does say that john1, thats sony`s way of saying 5.1

currys in camden are so anal - they insisted that the only outputs on the c28w511tn at the back were scart, they wouldnt pull the set out for me. I go somewhere else and find out it has audio outs - so helpful in comparison.

thanks you two
