With the help of a few nice people on this site i purchased and fitted a DVD recorder to hook up to my Sky +.
Next Question .... Does anyone know how to transfer from the Sky H/drive to the dvd h/drive faster than real time ???? at the moment i have to do it overnight

As far as I know, set-top DVD or HD recorders can only record in real time so I think overnight is your only option.

As far as set top recorders go, I think it will depend on which make/model you have.
I believe the Pioneer 520 has a fast dubbing facility as does the Ellion DVR-950 (but this is just about all you can do on this HDD). Others probably have this feature also.

Whether the Sky + box alows for fast dubbing, I don`t know. Suggest you study the handbooks

You are going digital>analogue>digital, so as well as introducing a layer of loss of quality, going faster than real time from your Sky box to your DVD recorder is impossible-You would need some kind of data transfer connection, and there isn`t one available.
