My new Panasonic DMRES10 turned up yesterday and .....

seeing as ive never had a dvd recorder before it is so easy to use + set up, panasonic have made it really user friendly.I was having a good look over it last night... tried timeslip while recording the footy last night ... wow that function is great. Love the dvd ram discs and everything you can do with them (dvd ram is such a good format, its like having a hard-drive really) , i`ve not tried the highest quality setting yet for recording(xp) but recorded the football + desperate housewives last night on (sp) + the picture quality is absolutely perfect.. unbeliveably good recorder and worth every penny I paid for it .

Just wait til you get loaned discs from friends.
Discs that it will spit out whilst your £20 hookycooky from Asda plays them no problem.
>:(

Sorry,I`m normally a big fan of the Panasonics but latter day events ( spitting out of many makes of DVD-R`s and photo CD-R`s have really changed my opinion of it somewhat ).

As a recorder.it`s great.
As a player,it sucks.

If you mean copied discs from friends , my daughter has a budget jobbie in her bedroom + ive got a Toshiba in mine + a panasonic s47 that has played everything ive thrown at it so i wont lose sleep over copied discs ;) .
Got the panasonic because of all the positive things i have heard about the e55(apart from your photo cd-r problem) my DMRES10 plays them btw.

It`s been a while since I used the E55 as a recorder ( SKY+ negates the need ) so it`s more or less a player these days.
I`ll be a lot fussier as to playing ability in my next purchase.

Am I right in saying that the Panny dmr-es10 only records in 16:9 aspect ratio using DVD-RAM disks, and 4:3 using DVD-/+R disks?
