i`m deaf so get dvds which have subtitles. Looking at some region 1 dvds, a lot of them seem to have closed captions - probably compatible with American TVs as all of them usually have closed caption software. Does anybody know how I could watch these dvds here (UK) on my DVD player (have hack code for region 1) with the captions on?
your help on this matter would be cool - especially those who have region 1 dvds

I believe closed captioning requires a device to enable the subtitles to appear.This was a regular feature on US vhs and US tv. But you should find that standard subtitles are provided on virtually all R1 dvd`s
