has anybody come across a problem with the sony 335/336 whereby the film would appear to freeze for about a second or two about halfway through every film? I have both players (which are effectivly the same thing), and they both do it? - Thankx

Nick,
It`s nothing to worry about - simply the player changing layer on the disc. Some discs are dual layer because of the length of the movie. When the laser finishes reading the first layer, it re-focuses to start reading the second layer. The pause is simply the time it takes for the player to re-focus.
Beats getting up to change the disc over.

yep steve is right the term for the pause is called changeover and a lot of machines do this and its the price you have to pay for 2 layers of a dvd rom disk to be read .....baz
