Problem with Panasonic DVD E85 (DVD-R won`t stop "playing" and no other functions work
:/
Can anyone help with this very odd problem which just occurred tonight.
I`ve had this Panasonic DVD E85 Region 1 for the last month or so and it`s been working fine with 8 x Datawrite disks. However tonight something odd happenned and I`ve no idea how to resolve it.
I was trying to trasnfer some programs at High Speed Transfer from the HDD to disks
to clear some memory and I had successive DVD-R disk failures which only became apparent when I would try to finalise the disk (at which point the help screen would say there was no data on the disk to finalise.
The second time this happenned - I physicly checked the disk and could see something had been recorded. However when I tried to play it back although the DVD appeared to play it was only a blank screen.
The problem is now I can`t get "play" to stop or even eject the disk - the system just seems completely paralysed. (I really haven`t had this problem before tonight and the recorder hasn`t sufferred any hard knocks.
The only thing I can think of is if I unplug the system - but I`m worried I`ll do one of the drives some serious damage. Can anytone suggest a solution.

If it won`t allow you to stop it, then I can`t think of any other option to reset other than a power down and restart.
If you do power down, I`d leave it off for a bit then whenit`s plugged back in, hit eject almost straight away!

Unplug it. It`s designed to withstand power failures. When you power up after 10 minutes, don`t do anything until it reintializes.
I wouldn`t get excited unless it doesn`t correct the problem, or it happens again. These recorders (any brand) are a little sensative.
