Advice needed regarding the Sony RDRGX300

cactusjack1483 (Harmless) posted this on Saturday, 25th December 2004, 18:44

Hello,

I am looking to buy a DVD Recorder to replace my VCR. The primary use for the recorder will be to copy footage from videos to DVD, and to record stuff from Sky.

I have seen the Sony RDRGX300 DVD Recorder on the Currys website for £249.99 (plus a 5% discount for anything ordered on Christmas Day!).

Does anyone have any thoughts on this recorder - for those that own it, have you had any problems (like with the Philips range)?

Also, does anyone know if it is mult-region, or if it will be able to read the dual layer dvd disks that are now available.

Any thoughts or advice would be much appreciated,

Merry Christmas!!!

:) I wish you the best of luck as I am just about to pick up one of these recorders myself as part of a package. I also want to make use of it with multi region discs.

Compiling footage from videos is far easier with a Hard Disc Drive /DVDR combo.Sony machines are overpriced.Empire Direct are doing the Pioneer 420 HDD/DVDR for just £318.You would be daft to get the Sony when this flexibility is available for just £70 more.Multiregion will be about £20 extra via a special remote from DVD Chips
