I have a Lecson DVD player connected to a Yamaha TSS-1 amp and speakers through an optical cable and on certain R2 discs like O Brother, Terminator and Spinal Tap I don`t get any sound from the disc menus through the amp set up but it plays through the TV fine.
I have my player to output Bitstream. If I change it to PCM it works fine but then I have to change back to bitstream to have 5.1.
Does anyone know of a way around this?

I have noticed that most menu screens are in pro logic rather than 5.1 even though the sound is coming from your digital out,might have something to do with it
