Page 1 of JVC TH S3 Sound problem

>:( Hi Folks, I have had an early Xmas present from my wife. Lucky me!! Things being a bit tight we have gone for a JVC TH S3 home system. The sound is pretty good, quite impressed for the price! However when I turn on the prologic II or all chl stereo mode all 5 speakers pop and crackle. Sounds like there is a discharge of static electricity. Plays fine in 2 channel stereo mode. It doesn't happen in DVD mode. It happens when the unit is taken off standby and playing though the AUX mode or TV SOUND mode, if I switch the unit off and on again its fine. I may have to switch it off and on twice sometimes. I have checked all the leads all seems okay. I have even unplugged scart and phono leads to see if they are the problem. But even with everything unplugged with no sound though the speakers the pop and cackle is still there and the speakers shut down, I assume that is a safety switch cut off to protect the speakers. Please don't ask me to go back to the shop with the system. It was bought over the net so to undo all the wiring around the room would be a pain in the neck. Not to mention the fact of posting it back to the supplier. Sorry this is a bit of a long read, but I wanted to post as much info in the hope of some techno out there that may know what's going on. Thanks
RE: JVC TH S3 Sound problem
Soz to say mate, but it does sound like it`s a "needing to return" case :/
Although, one thing to test first:
Make sure the amplifier is set to zero volume before you switch it on/change to the TV output.
Amplifiers can blow their amp stage or speakers if the volume is up and an input is switched or if the power turned on or off, although this is very rare with input switching.
I might have said the TV input to the amp was too high, but you`ve said it`s doing it when disconnected too, so the only thing left I can think of is a hyper-sensitive protection circuit in the amp, but setting it to zero will hopefully determine that.
If I`m right/the problem is related, then when you increase the volume after switching on or switching input, it should be ok.
Hope I`m wrong, and there`s many more technical peeps on here able to diagnose it more accurately, but try that first.
Oh, and on a long shot, try moving it away from any other interference sources, including the TV (daft I know, but it could be the TV outputting interference and not properly sheilded somewhere, look on previous threads with NTL boxes causing similar hassles)
