Advice Needed - Problems with MICO A980

Carsonlad (Competent) posted this on Thursday, 7th September 2000, 20:25

I received my MICO from Unbeatable on Wednesday. On playing a disc I began to hear a vibration coming from the machine whenever the volume of the movie went down. I tryed other discs and found that it did the same for all of them. This problem usually starts when the movie starts, maybe goes away for a little while during the movie, but keeps returning. Along with the annoying noise created the machine also starts to vibrate, unlike when the noise is not being created.

It is affecting my enjoyment of the movies I watch, so I was wondering if anyone else thought that I should return the MICO to get a replacement.

Does anyone else agree?

Cheers

I also received my Mico on Wednesday but have not experienced this problem. I would suggest you send yours back for replacement.

I have however got a problem with Tarzan Collector`s Edition R2. The film plays fine on the Mico but when accessing the menus of special features on disc 2 the Mico freezes or even returns back to the beginning of the disc. I don`t know if this is the fault of the machine or a faulty disc. I have 4 other DVD discs at present and haven`t had any menu problems with these. Does anyone else have similar experience of Mico`s or Tarzan?

Can you tell me how long it takes for your discs to load up usually?

My Mico takes a few seconds to load the disks

As for Tarzan I`ve seen the same problem when leaving the original trailers on the second disk. hope this isn`t a sign of things to come. I`ve played several other disks and they work fine. Maybe just a bug with this disk.

Mine is definetly going back. It Takes about 30-45 seconds to load up my discs, and makes a horrible vibrating noise.

Unbeatable don`t seem interested in customer care. I have faxed them and e-mailed them regarding the pick up of my faulty machine and had no replies. If it doesn`t get picked up tomorrow I`ll be ringing them with a few choice words.

Go for it. The player seems excellent (if it works) but so far unbeatables customer services is terrible.

If you don`t get satisfaction soon contact Which-On-Line since they gave unbeatable webtrader accreditation. The WOL webtrader forums show that the customer services seem to take more notice when they risk loosing that nice round webtrader logo.

Good Luck!

Unbeatable customer services came through today and picked up my faulty Mico. Shelly at Unbeatable was a great help cos, even though the fuel crisis is going on, she got the couriers to pick it up.

Wish that they had contacted me sooner though. I faxed them about it Friday, e-mailed on Sat, rang on Monday before I got a reply from them Tuesday!

I hope they`ve the Mico in stock. I wont be waiting for another 2 months. If I get my refund its out to get a Samsung 709.
