hello,ive decided to buy a panasonic tx36pd30c crt widescreen television for the bedroom.i now need a really good pan/scan dvd player/system to go with it.my budget for the dvd player is £400 to £600 .i dont know whether to buy a dvd player or system with speakers etc.ive heard good things about denon dvd players but have always had sony.i dont want recordable and would prefer not to have to buy an amp.can anyone please give me some advice and any ideas where to buy.thankyou very much.

If you`re not bothered about good quality surround sound then you don`t need an amp.

Complete systems are simple to buy & can work out cheap, but if you`re looking for the ultimate in quality never buy a complete system (DVD, amp, speakers) you`ll always get the manufacteurers compromises.

Buy a DVD and then add different makes of amp & speakers when you can afford them (and if you want them)

Try What Hi Fi magazine for some reviews of kit.
