Help! Problem recording NTSC on the Panasonic E55

I`ve recently bought a Panny E55 and a new Panny VCR so that I can transfer my old video tapes across to DVD. I`ve just tried to copy a NTSC tape (which plays fine on the VCR) but when I record it on the E55 I get two black bars at the bottom of the screen which means that I only see part of the picture. The two machines are connected via a good quality scart lead. Can anyone advise please? :/

Thanks!

Chris

I believe thats because your VCR is outputting PAL60, not PAL, which allows playback of NTSC material on compatible PAL TV, but never being into that conversion format on VHS, I aint sure!

You can enter the menus of the E50 and change the input to NTSC to record it, but I dunno if the E55 has it, and if it can record that incoming signal.

Worth a go though!

The E55 has an option to record NTSC,but that input has to be pure NTSC,not PAL 60.The only dvd recorders that record PAL 60 are Philips and Pioneer
