Page 1 of Can`t get rid of humming from new sub......need help!

Hello, can anyone help me get rid the humming sound from my new sub?

I have just bought myself a new speaker Setup from Crane Audio

The sound is excellent but my sub is making a humming noise, from turning the volume on the sub up, it is silent for about less than a quarter of a turn then it hums from there on until about the last quarter of a turn, then it goes silent again.

When the hum goes away, my sub is either too low or too loud.

I know this is quite a common problem so had a quick look on google to see how to resolve this.

i read that uprading to a better sub woofer cable could help. so today i bought myself a new Monster Cable for the woofer, but the problem is still there.

I did a bit of messing about to see if i could find out where the interference was coming from......

I have an 8 plug adapter and removed plugs to see if the humming would stop......it did, if i unplugged my TV.

I thought it would help if i moved the sub to a different electrical point but the humming is still there.

What else can i do.

Is your sub close to your tv?, perhaps moving it as far away from the tv might help

i have tried this and it has not helped. :(

Can you return it to the retailer ?

I can, its on a 7 day trial but there is nothing wrong with the sub, its the interference from my TV.

I e-mailed the company and they phoned me back with some help.

I just have to put my sub up to the highest when the hum disapears and then adjust my amp by turning the sub volume right down to balance it out.

It seems to work so i will give it a try with a few films.
