I assume that it isn`t a clone of the Samsung 511, then?

Odd that they should choose this number, as it`s bound to cause confusion.

I believe that the Schneider DVD-511 is infact an Oritron DVD 600
that has been re-badged. If purchased from Asda they should also come
with 3 years free warranty. These machines should be handset hackable
for region coding using one of the 2 hacks for the Matsui DVD 110 or
Matsui DVD 122.

You are correct ....

Make sure the player has no disc in it
Press Menu , 1 , 6 , 7
Enter region (1 - 6) or press MUTE for ALL regions
Press Exit

does this player have the same problems with some disks as the matsui 110 such as the recent 007 ones. Cos i have two disks that dont work on the matsui 110 they are dogma r1 and the best of monty pyhon vol.1 r2. which are two of my favorite disks

Has anyone had any problems with this player?
I can`t make it automatically change the aspect ratio. Whatever I set it to it stays i.e 4:3 or 16:9 or Pan and Scan, however my Hitachi TV automatically changes for Sky Digital and is set to Auto.
Anyone got any ideas?
It also hung twice with a pretty screen with multicoloured squares all over. Has since been returned to Asda and changed for another. Fingers crossed...
