Page 1 of Help with video tape formats

Hi Guyz
My old camcorder has gone down the tubes, and I`m left with loads of 8mm Tapes.
I`ve tried looking on Ebay for a cheap 8mm camcorder, but they all go for around £100, and I can buy a brand new one for £150.
I can either get a new samsung camcorder or get one of a different format.
The question I have is:
Which video format is compatable with 8mm.
Hi 8 ... or ... Digital 8
I know someone here will have the answer.
Thanks
KaTz

RE: Help with video tape formats
out of those two, i`d go for digital-8 BUT if you can get a mini-dv recorder instead as these are better that both :D
general nobody @ www.dvdreviewer.co.uk and now www.x-disk.com/viewforum.php?f=41 for all things X-BOX
RE: Help with video tape formats
Both Hi 8 and Digital 8 camcorders will play 8mm tapes
Buy a mini DVd recorder & borrow from friend or shop an 8mm camera & transfer your 8mm tapes to DVD.
