Page 1 of Compacks 101 timer event recording problem

Hi I have a Compack DVD 101 Recorder and it is not doing too badly for the price. However, on timer record I am getting anout 1hour and 3minutes recorded and then it stops - this is highly irritating!

Does anyone know why this happens or what I can do about it?

you can get a firmware upgrade that alegedly fixes a number of problems with this machine (it didn`t fix the troubles I had when I finally did the upgrade, but my problem was not related to the timer (or at least I hadn`t tried timer recording with it). (I don`t wish to ask stupid questions...but you did change the record mode to something other than HQ, yes ? (my machine was set to HQ when I first set it up, so I had to change it to SP)
