Compacks DVD 101 Recorder

oceanauk34 (Harmless) posted this on Wednesday, 28th July 2004, 21:41

I have just purchased this Compacks DVD 101 Recorder - I don`t seem to be able to obtain any channels through it. I have 2 scart sockets on my tv, one I`ve connected up to the DVD, one to my freeview box then my outside ariel cable is going into my freeview box and the a/v out lead is on the DVD recorder. Does anyone know if this is correct? I`d be grateful for any help!! Jackie

OK let`s look at this

DVD output scart to TV input scart - fine you should see whatever the dvd is out putting

Freeviewbox (fvb) scart to tv scart - fine on this AV in the TV should see what the fvb is out putting

Fvb av leads to dvd recorder in - again fine provided you select that input mode on the machine..

Now have you checked that everything is outputting and set to receive the same type of signal? Set all inputs (tv and dvd) and outputs (fvb and dvd) to video (not s-video or rgb).

First of all Mirror, thanks so much for taking the time to post a reply to my query. I`m afraid I`m not too technical so I may be using the wrong terminology for the various cables I`m using. U mentioned the fvb av lead - is this the main antenna for tv? Also how do I select the input mode on the machine?

You`ve also mentioned setting all inputs and outputs to video - again how do I go about this? thank you so much. Regards Jackie
