Does anyone have one of these and can comment on how good it is.

Is it DTS compatible?

There are plenty of reviews for it on the Internet, giving mixed opinions of it.

It`s not DTS compatible, only Dolby Digital and EAX(a format used in computer games).

One of the plus points for it must be that it has a remote control as many of these packages don`t usually come with one.

Slightly cheaper than the DTT3500 is the Yamaha TSS1, which is both Dolby and DTS compatible. However, i haven`t seen any reviews of this so i can`t comment on whether it`s any good or not. I`d say the smart money is on it though...

No it`s not DTS compatible.
I recently bought this kit ( £100 approx) as a cheap way into home cinema & to be perfectly honest if you have an average size room ( mine is 16` x 12`) this system really packs a punch & would probably be enough for most people. I demoed the mid air collision on Fight Club to some mates & now they all are getting it ( the film & the DTT3500).
It is extremely well made & has a number of connections available for you to connect things to.
I have connected a DVD player, a CD player & my TV. This way I get prologic from TV & digital for CD & DVD players.
Even the wife likes it because apart from the sub ( which you can hide anyway) the rest of the speakers are tiny. It sounds excellent with DVD`s & pretty good with CD`s. The only trouble now is I want all TV broadcasts to be in Dolby Digital!
It`s even got a midnight mode for listening late at night.
I have yet to reach half volume on any DVD & yet it rocks the living room.
The only thing is you will need to spend some time to get the sound how you like it ( it took me a whole week of tweaking ). I suppose this is the case with anything new though?

Sorry Josh,
I have a mate, of a mate, who brother works at Creative & he got me this kit as " staff discount". Apparently the cheapest place to buy this from is Dabs, about £200 I think. Alternatively you could get the previous model to this, the DTT2500 which you should get for about £150 maybe even cheaper now. I have been told unofficially that Creative may be bringing out a flat panel speaker design later in the year, but when & how much this is I don`t know, but you may want to look into this?
To be honest I would have paid £200 for the DTT3500 it is such a superb bit of kit...............in my opinion, but then again I didn`t like the original Videologic when I heard that.............. & yet most people would say that sounded good, so what do I know!

Ive also got a set and have to say theyre plenty loud enough for a medium size room... they may not be as good as if you spend several hundred quid BUT the difference over not having a setup at all IS amazing :-)

i got it from jungle.com which is 196 inc delivery....

Hi,
Couple of questions for ya.
How high have you turned the volume up?
Where have you placed your sub & in which direction is the port facing?

The reason I am asking these questions is because I have an awkward shaped room & placement of the sub is difficult. So I have set the sub @ halfway for DVD`s & then turn it down for CD`s. Does this seem about right to you? I have yet to reach over half volume with the set up like this. It`s absolutely amazing, but I wondered if I needed to a) Turn the sub down a bit anyway or b) Move the sub to acheive this?
Any idea`s?
