Page 1 of playing tape from video to av3 on pan e55

when i play a tape from a video recorder to my pan e55 using av3 on the front panel the picture is black and white.
the video is old and not been used for a long time,but has a scart on the back.i`m using a scart adapter with red-white-yellow and s(thingy) to connect it to the e55.
the reason i`m using the av3 is cause when i get rid of my tv/vid combi i want easy access to record old vhs tapes.
anyone any idea whats up ?

ps if i do need a new video,any suggestions of a good cheap video ?

You`re feeding a standard AV signal into an SVideo socket.

Change it to record on AV2 with a non RGB setting and it should work fine.
