5.1 CHANNEL THEATRE SYSTEM HELP ME!!!!
Hi guys, i joined the forum just to ask this....
I have a dvd player that i assume has a Dolby and Dts decoder onboard because it says Dts and Dolby on the front. the model is a Naiko N-2081.
It has a coaxial output and a normal left and right/ red and white output. i want to add a 5.1 channel speaker system i have seen which has a coaxial input. will these 2 items combined give me actual SURROUND sound???????????????
Any comments would be greatly appreciated.

As i suspected, thank you my friend. I am only gonna buy a cheap speaker system cos my bedroom is v. small. if my dvd player has a decoder and so does the amp, is it gonna be decoded twice?!!

most dvd players will read dolby and dts discs but few have decoders in them. if yours has then just go through the menu and turn it off.
check your speaker system has the decoder built in, most do.
connect the digital out and there you go.
watch out for some discs which will play in stereo unless you change the menu to dolby.
